Canada’s Residential School Atrocities

Hello, friends from Craig and LaDonna Smith.  The issue of the Residential School mass and unmarked grave findings of murdered Indigenous children is both horrendous and gut-wrenching for us all.  It’s also a story that will not be relegated to the history books soon, because of the push to have all Residential School sites examined forensically which will lead to perhaps tens of thousands of more bodies being located for the first time in decades.  The pain and anguish will only grow deeper in the days, weeks, months, and perhaps even years to come.

We are offering this significant place on our website to give you a single location to go to in order to listen to our four-part Mourning the 215 Children (which was the number of bodies found in the original site located in late May 2021 in Kamloops, BC).

Also, we wanted to have a place where we can update you where Canada, the U.S., and most importantly, the churches involved in this genocide are presently at in their response to this growing tragedy. What transpired over multiple decades a century ago is now being exposed in real-time at a single point in history, in front of one generation…our generation!

It is our burden to bear, all at once!  That’s a heavy burden for all of us to bear. LaDonna and I want to do our best to serve the Indigenous and Christian community with current information, perspective, and encouragement that would lead down a road to healing to those so deeply affected by this tragedy.

You’ll see not only our four podcast episodes produced in response to this crisis but updates and insights we will continue to post on a regular basis for as long as needed.  We pray God does what only He can do in such horrific times, bring healing, hope, and comfort to grieving Native nations.  Our prayers are with you all as we move forward.
